The Inspiration

When it comes to fashion, not many decades can rival the sartorial impact of the ‘Swinging Sixties.’ Women were inspired by the top models of those days, such as Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton, Colleen Corby, Penelope Tree, and Veruschka. False eyelashes were in vogue, as was pale lipstick. Mary Quant, A British designer, was one of the pioneers of the miniskirt and the minidress during 1960. She named the skirt after her favorite car, the Mini Cooper. She has said: " We wanted to increase the availability of fun for everyone. We felt that expensive things were almost immoral and the New Look was totally irrelevant to us."
